Compatibility Aspects
Aspects are the geometric angles between planets — conjunctions, squares, trines, oppositions, sextiles. Used in synastry to read compatibility between two charts and in natal reading to read the wiring of one.
Sun square Moon →
The ego-vs-emotional-needs tension aspect. In natal: inner pull between conscious will and inner needs. In synastry: chemistry plus chronic miscommunication.
Venus square Mars →
The romantic-style mismatch aspect. Venus rules attraction, Mars rules pursuit. Square produces the slow-vs-fast, cool-vs-hot dynamic.
Sun conjunct Moon →
The synastry foundation aspect. New Moon birth in natal. “We just get each other” in synastry — same essential energy, fewer translation costs.
Saturn square Venus →
The why-is-love-hard aspect. Saturn structures, Venus loves. Square produces the felt block to receiving softness.
Jupiter conjunct Venus →
The abundance-and-relationships aspect. Both planets are traditionally benefics; the conjunction multiplies their cooperative energy.
Moon square Saturn →
The emotional-restriction aspect. Often inherited from a parent who couldn't meet emotional needs; works through with age and Saturn maturation.
Sun trine Jupiter →
The natural-confidence aspect. Trines flow harmoniously — produces easy faith in oneself, charisma, optimism. The danger is taking the gift for granted.
Moon conjunct Venus →
The love-language aspect. Moon rules emotional needs; Venus rules affection style. Conjunction merges them — in synastry, the “we just fit” feeling.
Mars conjunct Venus →
The magnetic-attraction aspect. Venus = attraction, Mars = pursuit — conjunction puts both on the same lane. One of the most-cited “instant chemistry” aspects in synastry.
Saturn conjunct Moon →
The emotional-commitment aspect. Saturn structures the Moon's emotional life. In synastry: serious from early, often karmic-feeling.
